A lot of people, more talented than I, have sophisticated work-arounds for the inevitable roadblock presented by the Content Query Web Part.

For all of its replica watches glory, the CQWP doesn not accept connections from other web parts, so you can Breitling Watches filter it. However, based on my previous experiments with SPD, I know a little something about query strings (URL parameters) and a thing or two about CSS. So, I going to do a little display/hide trick in a web part based on the query string on the current page.

Just like the previous blog, I created a new "view" for my web part that shows Course Events. I add this web part to the page where I display an individual Course using the old URL-hack. Now, I just need to add some javascript that will "un-hide" my courses where appropriate.

I pick the new view for my customized web part and I open the source editor on the Content Editor Web Part.
